Amber Austin
Amber began dancing at the age of 2 with Betty Lyn Dance Studios in Seminole Florida. At the age of 3 she then began dancing with Susan Hartley at Dancemoves Studio in Seminole, Florida. She danced all styles of dance such as tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, high-steppers and EXCLAMATION,(kick- lines) pointe, acrobatics, contemporary as well as did musical theatre. She had the opportunity to perform in the Orange Bowl Halftime show in Miami, Florida ,competed nationally with Dance Makers Inc. winning 1st and 2nd places with her competition team for four years and was also part of the New York Summer Dance Intensive at Broadway Dance Center where she worked with choreographer Frank Hatchett. She also performed for the Florida State Fair and at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Among her time at Dancemoves Studio, she was the award recipient of various studio awards all throughout her years of dance. She was able to continue her performance skills with musical theatre classes and acting classes with famous choreographers and coaches such as Lane Napper and Kathryn Murphy, Michael Boyce, Tommy Alexander and many more. She ended her journey at Dancemoves after 18 years of dance in 2006 where she then went on to dance for her Community College company, Co-Motion Dance Theatre at SPC from 2007-2009 under Nancy Smith and Cynthia Hennessy. As she then graduated from SPC and moved onto continue her Bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida Saint Petersburg, she continued to take dance classes at VYBE Dance Company in Tampa, Florida.
In 2015-2016 she taught dance for Creative Movement and Dance Company with Abigail Smith.
Here she taught at various schools teaching tap, ballet and hip-hop to students after school. Amber has also been a dance teacher at VIBE dance studio and YMCA Dance Academy. She joined the Fuego Dance Company team in 2020 and excited to continue teaching and being a part of the FUEGO Dance Famiky! In 2016 Amber earned her Bachelor in Arts degree in English Literature, Bachelor in Science degree in Elementary Education and Minor in Leadership Studies at the University of South Florida Saint Petersburg where she graduated with honors. She is now a Pinellas County teacher, teaching Special Education students in grades K thru eighth grades at Plator Academg in Pinellas Park, Florida. She was was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2019/2020 School Year at Avant garde Academy with Hillsborough County Schools! Amber is going into her 6th year of teaching and already given this huge accomplishment.
Amber has been more active with her dancing through dancing for various dance opportunities and with various dance organizations making her passion continue to grow even stronger than it already is.
