Deanna is the newest addition to the Fuego family and has joined as the current acro teacher. She has been dancing for 22 years, which began eagerly at the age of 4 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her passions have only further ignited with every passing year.
Growing up, she was a member of her dance studio’s competition team and has training in many styles of dance, including tap, ballet, jazz, modern, pointe, hiphop, acro, theater jazz, and more! From ages 8 to 12, she was granted the opportunity to dance on court for the Philadelphia 76ers on the Junior Sixers Dance Team. At the age of 12, she was chosen to be a backup dancer in a movie called Standing Ovation. She has been grateful to receive awards and recognitions from many competitions throughout her years, including a scholarship to the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Tyce Diorio once invited her to dance alongside him on stage at a convention called Company Dance, and this continues to be one of many extremely fond memories she holds that has helped amplify the fire within for her love of dance.
During college, she joined a local studio called Dance Tallahassee and was able to train with former Rockette, Ashley Adams. With DT, she performed at a plethora of local events on the studio’s performance team. She was also a member of Seminole Dance Force at Florida State University, and with her team she performed at many school sanctioned events and competed at NDA Nationals where they consistently placed as one of the top 5 collegiate dance teams in the nation.
Since graduating college, Deanna has traveled the world on her own, but always found a way to keep her dancing spirit alive. Whether she was dancing for fun alongside the local people on Zanzibar Island, grooving at a discoteca with the fishermen in Nicaragua, or simply dancing by herself in the grassy fields of the Netherlands, Deanna has never allowed her passions of artistic movement to fizzle. She considers dance to be one of the greatest loves of her life, and looks forward to sharing those same passions with her students and colleagues at Fuego Dance Company.
