Dance Classes to Fit Every Student

Fuego Dance Co. strives to be the best dance studio by bringing the fire not only in Clearwater but in all of Florida.
We are proud to provide various dance classes to compliment many genres of dance for all ages.

Here are the dance styles you can learn at our dance studio:

Ballet Dance Classes

Harnessing the principles of discipline, strength, flexibility, and grace through controlled movements, ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. From the mini age group on up, dancers start with barre and finish with center combinations/choreography.

Dress Code for Girls:

  • Black leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Ballet shoes
  • Hair away from the face in a bun
  • Shorts, ballet skirts, leg warmers (only acceptable for the first 15 mins of class)

Dress Code for Boys:

  • Fitted black pants
  • Fitted black or white top
  • Black ballet shoes
Contemp

Contemporary/Lyrical Dance Classes

Contemporary/Lyrical Dance Classes
As a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, contemporary dance teaches saltation’s while demonstrating emotions. Lyrical, on the other hand, will enhance ballet basics in a choreographic format. This class merges these two styles of dance with technique and storytelling.

Dress Code for Girls:

  • Black or red leotard
  • Non-footed tights of any color or fitted shorts
  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Turners, foot thongs, bare feet
  • Hair pulled back away from hair

Dress Code for Boys:

  • Solid color fitted pants or shorts
  • Black or red fitted top
  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Turners, foot thongs, bare feet

Jazz

This classical form of dance not only focuses on the instruction of sharp, clean, and technical movements, but also teaches you to harmonize with body flow. Jazz is a high-energy, upbeat class that begins with a detailed warm-up, moves to across-the-floor combinations, and ends with an exploration of choreography.

Dress Code for All:

  • Black or red tank or leotard
  • Black or red fitted shorts or pants
  • Jazz shoes
  • Hair tied back away from the face
hiphop

Hip-Hop/Jazz Funk

This class takes the smooth flow of jazz and integrates the hard-hitting movements of old school hip-hop. Dancers will alternate weekly between the two genres to differentiate the styles and techniques of both. Each class begins with a rhythmic warm-up, transitions to style-based center training, and ends with choreography.

Dress Code for All:

  • Expressive & comfortable clothing of choice for movement
  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Danceable sneakers, hip-hop dance, jazz
MT2

Musical Theatre

Learn to perform your way down Broadway with this confident building class that incorporates dance with acting. Introducing the classics of Bob Fosse, to the new works of today’s Broadway shows. This class is based on experience versus age with “ignite” for beginners & “fuego” for Intermediate/advance performers.

Dress Code for All:

  • Expressive & comfortable clothing of choice for movement.
  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Turners, jazz, character

Technique

Technique class grinds the core development of all dance styles. You’ll experience a variety of combinations as you work on leaps, turns, floor work, flexibility, balance, improvisation, performance enhancement, and much more.

Dress Code for Girls:

  • Black or red leotard

  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Turners, jazz, ballet, foot thongs
  • Hair pulled back away from hair

Acro

Acrobatics/Conditioning

This energetic style combines the athleticism and rhythmic movements of modern-day dance. The techniques you will learn focus on strength training, calisthenics, basic gymnastics, and conditioning of a well-balanced dancer.

Dress Code for Girls:

  • Leotard or bodysuits
  • Hair pulled back, NOT on top of head

Dress Code for Boys:

  • Fitted body suit or shorts & top
Tap

Tap

This classical genre of dance is where percussion meets the dance floor and never goes out of style. With the use of tap shoes, dancers will learn musicality and rhythm in in the same class. Throughout the class, you’ll focus on technical tap terms while combining different sounds choreographically.

Dress Code for All:

  • Black or red tank or leotard
  • Black or red fitted shorts or pants
  • Tap shoes
  • Hair tied back away from the face
latin fusion

Latin Fusion

The heart of Fuego Dance Co is Latin Fusion. This class will be a fusion of salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, and jazz funk. Learning the basics of Latino movements merged with the groove of jazz. This class is based on experience versus age with “ignite” for beginners & “fuego” for Intermediate/advance dancers.

Dress Code for All:

  • Expressive & comfortable clothing of choice for movement.
  • Shoes allowed (but not limited to):
    o Jazz, ballroom heels, character, hip-hop shoes
